Can I copy/paste more than one item in the System Hierarchy or
FMEA Hierarchy in Xfmea or RCM++?
You will notice that only one item
at a time can be selected in the System Hierarchy or FMEA
Hierarchy. You can easily copy multiple items in either
hierarchy, however, by selecting Copy Multiple System Tree
Items or Copy Multiple FMEA Tree Items from the
Project windows Edit menu. These commands open windows
that allow you to select the items you want to copy. The Copy
Multiple System Tree Items window is shown next.
Select the checkbox next to the
item(s) that you want to copy in the system hierarchy. Please
note that when an item is selected to be copied, all associated
next level items, functions, failures, effects, causes, controls
and actions will also be copied, along with any attachments.
Click Select All to select all items in the system
hierarchy or click Deselect All to clear all selected
items.
The Copy Multiple FMEA Tree
Items window, shown next, works in a similar way.
Select the type of record
(functions, failures, effects or causes) that you want to copy
in the drop-down menu, then select the checkbox next to the
record(s) that you want to copy. Please note that when a record
is selected to be copied, all associated next level functions,
failures, effects, causes, controls and actions will also be
copied, along with any attachments. Note also that you cannot
copy records above the type you have selected in the drop-down
menu (e.g. if you have selected to copy effects, as shown
here, functions and failures will not be available for copying).
Click Select All to select all records in the FMEA
hierarchy or click Deselect All to clear all selected
records.
Records that you copy in these
windows can be pasted to the same project or to another project
within the same database.
The Delete Multiple System
Tree Items and Delete Multiple FMEA Tree Items
commands in the Edit menu open similar windows that allow
you to select multiple items for deletion.
Where can I find examples to see how ReliaSoft software works?
ReliaSoft's software packages come
with numerous example files to help you gain an understanding of
how to use the software. These files are stored in the
"Examples" folder in the application directory (e.g.
C:\Program Files\Weibull7\Examples). In most applications, you
can access these files at any time by selecting Open Examples
Folder from the Help menu. In addition, the initial
window that appears in many of ReliaSoft's applications (titled
What do you want to do?) provides an Open Examples Folder link
at the lower left that takes you directly to the Examples
folder, as shown next.
