Lamba Predict’s Auto Backup window allows you to create backup files of the projects automatically. This window can be accessed by clicking Auto Backup on the Other page of the User Setup.
You can turn on automatic backup by selecting the Auto backup every X Min. checkbox, then specify the frequency of the backup in the input box. Number of files allows you to specify the number of backup files that you want generated. If you enter 1, then the application will generate only one backup file that will continually be updated every X minutes (as specified in the Auto backup every X Min. input box). If you enter a number greater than 1, then the application will generate that number of backup files. The backup files will continually be updated every X minutes in a circular method. For example, if you enter 10 for the backup interval and 2 for the number of files, then the application will generate the first backup file at 10 minutes and the second backup file at 20 minutes. At 30 minutes, the first backup file will be updated. At 40 minutes, the second backup file will be updated, and so on. The backup file will be given the same name as the project file and will be saved to the same location as the project file with the extension (*.bak). If you specified for more than one backup file to be generated, then the backup file names will be appended with ~P1, ~P2, etc. To restore a backup file, rename the file and change the extension to (*.LPP) so that the application will treat it as a Lambda Predict project file.
For consistency and to save effort, Xfmea and RCM++ provide numerous ways to save time and reduce errors by using pre-defined information to facilitate data entry. These include:
