This on-line reference has been designed to introduce you to reliability growth analysis (RGA) concepts. It accompanies ReliaSoft's reliability growth analysis software package, RGA 6 which was developed in cooperation with Dr. Larry Crow, the leading authority in the field of reliability growth analysis, along with key development partners in government and industry (including the U.S. Navy and John Deere). RGA not only includes the ability to analyze reliability growth data, but also data from fielded systems. Fielded systems includes analysis of repairable systems, as well as fleet analysis. This on-line reference can be used as a reference for RGA or by itself as a reliability growth handbook. It provides examples and sample problems that can be analyzed using ReliaSoft's RGA. And when applicable, it also includes the underlying theory and principles, relevant calculations and derivations.
Examples in this on-line reference use ReliaSoft's RGA 6 software. Use of the software is described in-depth in the RGA 6 User's Guide. This reference assumes a familiarity with the software and uses RGA 6 to reinforce and expand on the fundamentals of the analysis. This reference is provided with both the Standard and Professional editions of RGA 6.
This on-line reference is one in a series of reliability engineering reference works created by ReliaSoft. Some concepts and examples related to life data analysis and accelerated life testing that have been extensively covered in other references, such as ReliaSoft's Life Data Analysis Reference, ReliaSoft's Accelerated Life Testing Reference and/or ReliaSoft's System Reliability Reference, have been omitted from this reference.

The most recent update to this references reflects changes made to the RGA software up to Compile Release Version (CRV) 6.0.4.
This reference is divided into chapters, which are defined by the icon, and then sections and subsections. Some of the subsections also have topics associated with them.
At the end of each chapter, section and subsection, a See Also: list will appear. The See Also: list will take you to the chapter, section or subsection that it is related to.
Throughout this reference there are hotspots. These hotspots are always displayed similarly to a hypertext link and will take you to related items in this reference. In addition, there are a few hotspots that display a pop-up citation wherever an outside source was used in the reference. There also are a few hotspot pop-ups that will display an equation to better explain a theory.
You can browse through this reference by using the following two buttons that appear on the top right corner of each page:
